3. Electrical Safety

WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to this device or your property.

• Charge the battery in a garage, shed or carport, away from living spaces, bedrooms and exits.
• Do not charge unattended overnight in a location that blocks an escape route. Do not cover the battery or charger while charging.
• Disconnect the charger once the battery is fully charged. Do not leave connected indefinitely. Do not charge in direct sunlight, near flammable materials, or in extreme heat or cold.
• Stop charging immediately and disconnect if you notice: unusual smells, smoke, hissing, swelling, leaking, excessive heat, or discolouration.
• Do not modify, disassemble, puncture or expose the battery or motor system to water, impact or extreme temperatures.
• Keep the battery and charger away from children and pets.

4. Safe Product Storage

• Store the battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
• Do not store the battery in a vehicle exposed to extreme temperatures.
• Avoid storing the battery fully discharged for long periods; follow the User Manual's guidance on storage charge level.
• Keep the battery away from flammable materials and clutter that could obstruct escape routes in the event of a fire.
• If storing the device long-term, check the battery periodically for swelling, leaking or damage.

5. Use, Service and Repair

• Do not use or charge a battery that is swollen, leaking, cracked, dented, or otherwise damaged. Stop use immediately and contact an authorised service centre.
• Do not attempt to repair, open or service the battery or motor system yourself.
• Have this device serviced only by an authorised repairer.
• After any impact, drop, or exposure to water, have the device inspected by an authorised repairer before further use, even if no damage is visible.

6. Fire Safety and Emergency Procedures

Lithium-ion batteries can catch fire if damaged, faulty, or used incorrectly. A battery fire can start suddenly, burn intensely, and be difficult to extinguish.

Warning signs to watch for:

• Swelling or bulging of the battery casing
• Unusual smells, smoke or hissing sounds
• Excessive heat during use or charging
• Leaking or discolouration

If you notice any warning signs:

1. Stop using or charging the device immediately.
2. Move the device to a safe, open outdoor area away from people, vehicles and buildings, if it is safe to do so.
3. Do not attempt to extinguish a lithium-ion battery fire with water.
4. Call 000 (Triple Zero) in the event of a fire.
5. Evacuate the area and do not re-enter until emergency services confirm it is safe.

7. End of Life and Safe Disposal

• Do not dispose of the battery in household or kerbside bins. Damaged or crushed lithium-ion batteries can cause fires in bins, garbage trucks or waste facilities.
• Take the battery to a battery recycling point or Household Chemical CleanOut event. If the battery is not removable, take the whole device to an embedded-battery collection point.
• Cover battery terminals with clear adhesive tape before transporting for recycling, to prevent short-circuiting.
